Alpine Tranquility and Gateway to Adventure in the Heart of the Snowy Mountains

DAMAGING WINDS averaging 50 to 65 km/h with peak gusts up to 100 km/h are possible today over elevated terrain and their immediate lee slopes. DAMAGING WIND GUSTS of up to 100 km/h may also extend to lower elevations within the warning area.
          
          For ALPINE AREAS above 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h are likely to develop this morning, with peak gusts up to 130 km/h possible.
          
          Winds are forecast to ease below warning thresholds during the late afternoon and early evening.
          Locations which may be affected include Mount Ginini, Jindabyne, Perisher Valley, Charlotte Pass, Thredbo and Adaminaby.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, showers and southwesterly winds are expected during Sunday and Monday. Areas likely to be affected include the Snowy Mountains forecast district and parts of the South Coast, Southern Tablelands and Australian Capital Territory forecast districts. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.
