Alpine Tranquility and Gateway to Adventure in the Heart of the Snowy Mountains

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and strong northwesterly winds are expected during Tuesday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Snowy Mountains forecast district. There is a risk of losses of lambs and sheep exposed to these conditions.

For ALPINE AREAS above 1900 metres: DAMAGING WINDS averaging 80 to 90 km/h with peak gusts up to 125 km/h are possible.
          
          For the remainder of the SNOWY MOUNTAINS and adjacent districts: DAMAGING WINDS averaging 60 to 70 km/h with peak gusts around 100 km/h are possible, becoming more likely from early Tuesday morning. 
          
          
          Damaging winds are expected to continue through Tuesday before easing from the west during the afternoon.
          Locations which may be affected include Braidwood, Bombala, Thredbo, Selwyn, Adaminaby, Mount Ginini and Nimmitabel.
