Moderate to heavy rainfall is forecast across the North West Slopes, Mid North Coast and into the Hunter on Wednesday and Thursday. This rainfall is likely to result in to minor to moderate flooding along the North West Slopes from late Wednesday, with isolated major flooding possible. Minor to moderate flooding is possible in the Mid North Coast, Hunter and Colo River catchments from Thursday morning.

Catchments in the Flood Watch area are wet following recent rainfall.

There is some degree of uncertainty over the exact location and timing of the heaviest falls.  Localised river level rises and flash flooding are likely within the areas of heaviest rainfall.

Flood Classes (minor, moderate and major) are only defined for catchments where the Bureau provides a flood warning service.

Sheep graziers are warned that cold temperatures, rain and showers and easterly winds are expected during Wednesday and Thursday. Areas likely to be affected include parts of the Mid North Coast, Hunter, Northern Tablelands, Central Tablelands and North West Slopes & Plains forecast districts.
