Batemans Bay information and attractions

Introduction:

Batemans Bay is situated at the mouth of the Clyde River, between Moruya and Ulladulla.

The town has grown into a popular holiday destination, surrounded by attractive coastal features, beaches and national parks. It is the closest ocean beach to Canberra.

Good views across the iconic Clyde River Bridge and towards the town centre can be enjoyed from Folders Hill Lookout, north of the town centre. For spectacular coastal views, the lookout at Observation Head offers a good vantage point over Corrigans Beach and Caseys Beach.

10 kilometres south of Batemans Bay is the small town of Mogo where attractions include Old Mogo Town, a gold rush theme park, and the Mogo Zoo.

Old Mogo Town
A faithful recreation of Mogo was it was during the Gold Rush days of the 1850s where visitors can experience the living conditions of early settlers and miners
Mogo Zoo
Offering visitors an intimate, educational zoo experience within an organisation committed to the survival of endangered animals

Parks, gardens & trails:

Clyde River National Park
Fronting the peaceful Clyde River just west of Batemans Bay, this park includes the Holmes Lookout, mangrove communities and ideal fishing opportunities
Monga National Park
This park is situated between Braidwood and Batemans Bay and includes rainforests and old growth eucalypt forests
Bimberamala National Park
Located west of Batemans Bay, it covers much of the rugged terrain of the Bimberamala River catchment area
Murramarang National Park
Located along the coastline north of Batemans Bay, this park surrounds Durras Lake with its forests, rainforest gullies and adjoining beaches
